How many of you are Daddy’s girls? I am not ashamed to admit that I am, well actually I consider myself a daddy’s girl but a mama’s baby. With that being said I had to give it my all to create these cards with my dad in mind. I used Joy Clair’s Dad’s Day stamp set and the first project was a no brainer for me because my dad is an avid golfer and on Saturday morning’s he was at the driving range practicing his swing and on Sunday’s he was watching a match. I would try so hard to seem interested, but really watching men follow a little white ball was not as interesting to me as it was to him.
To create this card I cut a mask using my Silhouette and some contact paper for the hole and golf green and then airbrushed it using Copic markers. The sentiment is one from the stamp set that I inked up with some Memories black ink and used my MISTI to get it in the perfect spot for alignment. The corners were rounded using a corner chomper and I left a lot of white space.
The second card I stamped the ribbon three times total. Twice on white cardstock that was Copic friendly using Memnto Tuxedo black and once using archival black and heat set on some metallic paper using clear embossing powder. Once the embossing was cool I punched using a circle punch (3/4″ I believe) and set it to the side. The ribbon on the main panel I colored in it’s entirety and then only colored the first ring from the second stamped image, which I cut out. I then adhered the metallic piece and layer one of the ribbon using some pop dots to give the full ribbon some dimension. I used some antique linen around the edges of the focal panel to tone down the white of the panel and to help it work better with the card base. Some textured cardstock was used add a little more interest and the pointing fingers are from Joy Clair’s Speech Bubbles set.
