Cards Challenge

Penguin Cheers!

June 22, 2015

Hello Hello,

The Papers Player’s Challenge for this week is a clean and simple summer treat.  So you know I had to pull out My Favorite Things Penguins in Paradise again for this theme.  This time I used the little guy with the umbrella drink because that just screamed summer treat to me.  I actually did two other takes on this card before coming up with this one.  Actually, it hit me this morning as I was coming out of sleep and about to get ready for my day, should I be worried about that?  The penguin is stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with copic markers.  The red flower on his drink was colored using one of the Sakura pens and the umbrella was done with the Atyou Spica pen to add a little shine, which I do not believe showed up in the picture.  I put a little glossy accents on the glass to give it the look of a glass.  The blue waves were cut using the My Favorite Things Blueprint 25 and some recollection shades of blue cardstock.  The sun was a left over piece from another project and then sponged using squeezed lemonade and spiced marmalade.  The sand was cut from some scrap recollections and sponged with Vintage Photo and then cut using By Diezyne Stitched Rectangle just as the Neenah Solar White #80 for the back panel.  The two little birds are from WPlus9’s new set Party.  The sentiment banner is also cut from the Blueprints 25 set and heat embossed with Judikins embossing powder with a sentiment from the Penguins in Paradise set.

Cheers
