Happy Monday Everyone,
Wow, it has been awhile since I have posted. Life has been more than crazy around here and now I think it is finally calming down for me a little bit. My nephew is turning 5 in August and I decided I should go ahead and make a birthday card for him. I am so bad when it comes to mailing the cards that I make I am going to have to make sure I actually put this one in the mail. I have more than a few cards that I have made and had the family sign but never put them in the mail. Now, enough about me and here is what I created for him.
I created the backgrounds by splattering some masking fluid on some glossy cardstock and allowing it to dry. I airbrushed the colors listed leaving the blue for last then spritzed it with some rubbing alcohol to get the colors moving then let it dry. Once satisfied with the look I rubbed the masking fluid off with a Cammie cloth I keep in my area. I decided to use MFT’s Out of this World stamp set and matching dies. The images were all stamped on Hammermill #100 using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored with the Copic markers listed below and die cut. I scored my glossy cardstock for the inside portion at the halfway mark then used MFT’s Pop-up Elements Narrow to create the little elbow for my Martian to sit on. Using MFT’s Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangles to create the area for the sentiment once sponged using one of MFT’s purple dye inks, apologies for not writing it down. The sentiment for the card’s inside and outside are included in the set. Using Versamark on the outside sentiment was heat embossed using Judkins white embossing powder on black cardstock. a
