On the Road Again

Handmade card using Lawn Fawn Happy Trails set showing a card traveling down a road

This week the family and I have decided to hit the road for a little vacation and that is my inspiration behind my card this week.  Now I will admit the colors for the trailer came about because Susan over on her blog posted some cards using greens and purples and I thought they just looked so well together.  Thank you Susan.  I started out this project by die cutting my main panel using By Dyezines Rectangle die then stamping my trailer and car in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  After they were stamped I masked them and used the dotted trail from Gleeful gardens to make my road.  When my husband looked at it he asked me why my trailer was off road but not my car.  I told him the driver had to swerve a little to keep from hitting somethingJ  Don’t you just love when you can come up with a very plausible explanation for something not being perfect.  Once my road was done I started coloring the images.  The Sakura White Gelly roll pen was used to put the white lines in the road.  With my foreground and images colored I masked them and then very lightly airbrushed my clouds using the paper towel technique Jennifer Dove has on her website. Glossy accents was placed on all windows and the headlight.  I even added a little clear wink of stella on the trailer and car but as always you cannot really see it in the picture. Once all of the ink was dry I then heat embossed the sentiment and the little gas puffs behind it.  The panel was placed on some craft foam for dimension and placed them on a piece of Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka, Mon Amie paper.   Hope you have a safe and Happy Fourth of July, in case I don’t see you before then:-)

So awesome! I love the hilly terrain, and the dotted lines for the road. Your colors are great- and I love the beautiful sky you made!
