Snap Color Paste

creating joy one handmade project at a time

in Sponsored Post-Design Team

Mr. Hedgehog wishes you a very happy birthday!

Did you enjoy the blog hop on yesterday?  I had so much fun going through the different stops along the way to oooh and ahhh at the wonderful projects.  If you haven’t hopped yet make sure you do and comment to get in the running for one of the three prizes being awarded later in the month.  Keeping in the spirit of the January Joy Clair release I am going to highlight the stamp set hedge hogtastic featuring some of the cutest hedgehogs.  My project is slightly smaller than the A2 standard size greeting card and comes in at 4”x by 5”h tent fold card.

Hedge Hogtastic stamp set

Copic Markers: Hedgehog: R21, E51, E53, E55, E57, E59 Sky B24 Copic Multiliner

Since I knew I was going to color my hedgehog using Copic markers I stamped him on a piece of  Hammermill #100 using Memento Tuxedo Black ink .  Once colored in I took a Copic multiliner to darken the area around his eyeglasses and under his nose.  His eyes were darkened in using a Black glaze pen and then he was cut out.  A piece of Recollections white cardstock was cut using By Diezyne Stitched and pierced rectangles and then airbrushed using the technique shown on Jennifer Doves blog here.  With the background completed I then die cut a hillside to put behind the hedgehog and some grass for the front.  The sentiment is included in the set and it embossed beautifully with some Judikins embossing powder.

With the focal panel pieces all cut out, it was put together and then placed on a piece of designer paper that actually has a bunch of suns all the way across but you are not really able to see.   That piece was then placed a piece of blue cardstock (did not write the name down) and popped on a piece of fun foam, which was then placed on a piece of Bazzill Caramel Apple cardstock.

I hope you remember to join the hop while you still can and keep coming back to see information on the other projects shown on the initial hop day.

As always thanks for stopping by and have a wonderfully crafty day.
