Amazing Elephants

This weekend I made a card using Wplus9’s Unforgettable stamp set.  I have used the elephants a few times before because they are just too cute.  I actually stamped out my game plan the night before on a piece of a piece of cardstock and then colored with pencils to give me an idea of what I wanted to do.  I then used that piece to put my stamps on my MISTI.  Before I stamped my images I die cut my panel using By Diezyne rectangles and then stamped and masked each image as I went.  With the entire scene stamped it was time to color with the Copics.  I then colored the sky using my blues and used my ruler to draw a line below the elephant to give him some grounding and then colored the ground before him.  I didn’t take the ground color all the way over to the end because I thought it would be too much around the sentiment.  Once that was done I walked away from it for the rest of the day.  I am learning that if I do this I usually come up with additional things that can be added to the panel.  So this morning I got up and decided to die cut a couple of clouds using both the cloud die and the rectangle die to give them the same stitching as the rest of the panel and then distress them using tumbled glass.  I stamped and colored one of the birdies from WPlus9’s Party Animal set and put some glossy accents on the balloon and I now consider it done.  I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by.

Love these elephants- so sweet! Your clouds are a great addition, and love the idea of the earth/ground you added too. Great suggestion to walk away- gotta try that and see what I come up with!

Thank you Shelly. I am seeing that I have to walk away because I am such an impatient crafter that if I rush the project I don’t like it as much as one that I may carry over into the next day. Talk about learning patience. I am sure it will be a trait that will come in very handy in another part of my life.:-)
